Patios, walkways, retaining walls and complete landscaping: Montgomery, OH homeowners can have all of it designed and built by one team. JPK is a family-owned design-build landscaping company that has worked across Greater Cincinnati for more than 40 years, and we plan every project around your yard, your home and how you want to use your outdoor space.
Montgomery, OH is a city of tree-lined streets, established lots and well-kept homes, and good landscaping here has to fit in as much as it stands out. Our landscaping services cover the whole job: landscape design, hardscaping, planting and installation, handled by one team from the first consultation to the final walk-through.
Many Montgomery projects start in the backyard: a paver patio for dinners outside, a walkway that ties the patio to the house, or a fire pit that stretches the season into fall. Others start with front yard landscaping, where new beds, plants, shrubs, mulch and landscape lighting can lift curb appeal without a full rebuild.
Whatever the size of the project, the goal is the same: an outdoor space that suits your home, holds up to Ohio weather and stays easy to care for.
From full landscape design to patios, walls and seasonal lawn care, these are the landscaping and installation services our team offers Montgomery homeowners. Choose a service to see how we approach it, or find our other services in the list below.
The City of Montgomery describes itself as a place of “tree-lined streets and miles of brick paver sidewalks,” and that is a useful guide for hardscaping here. Pavers, natural stone and clean borders tend to look right beside Montgomery’s established homes and the historic character of the Heritage District along Montgomery Road.
As a patio builder, we size each patio to how you will use it: room for a dining table, a conversation area around a fire pit, or both. Walkways and steps connect it to the house, the driveway or the garden, so the whole yard reads as one design. A well-placed front walkway does a lot for curb appeal, too.
Seat walls, fire pits, pergolas, water features and an outdoor kitchen can turn a patio into an outdoor room. As hardscape contractors, we plan these pieces together with the paving, so gas lines, wiring for lighting and drainage are worked out before anything is built.
Hardscaping is only half of a finished backyard. Our landscaping services also cover the planting side: beds with shrubs, trees and plants that suit the site, sod installation for a tired Montgomery lawn, mulching, seasonal cleanup and tree trimming. Many homeowners pair a new patio with fresh planting so the whole outdoor space looks finished from the first season.
What sits under a patio matters as much as what sits on top. Greater Cincinnati’s clay soil holds water, and freeze-thaw cycles every winter push on anything built over a shallow or poorly drained base. We plan the base, grading and drainage for each property before the first paver goes down, and we add drainage installation where a yard already holds water.
If your lot slopes, retaining walls can turn a hillside into level, usable space for a patio, garden beds or a play area, and keep soil where it belongs.
The City of Montgomery lists patios and fire pits as needing a zoning permit, and retaining walls over four feet tall as needing a building permit. Expanding a driveway or other paved area also needs a zoning permit. Requirements can change, so we confirm what your project needs before work begins.
A 3D design rendering can create a beautiful and accurate representation of your future landscape project by visually communicating all of it’s features before the construction process begins.
As a design-build landscaping company, we follow the same clear process on every landscaping project in Montgomery, OH, so you know the landscape design, the budget and the plan before construction starts.
We meet at your home for a consultation about your ideas, design options and an overall budget. Afterward, you receive a design fee quote and a rough budget for the project.
Our landscape designer takes site measurements and elevations, then builds the landscape design. Larger projects can include a 2D or 3D rendering so you can see the yard first.
You receive the final design with an itemized cost, and we meet on site for a walk-through to answer any last questions.
A project manager stays in touch through installation, explains any changes, and gives you maintenance tips and watering instructions when the job is done.
